I also apologize for the issues we have been having lately with asks not getting through. I answer all that come through the system, but I have personally sat and watched people send in asks that time and time again did not go through. Askbeanpole is not the only blog on tumblr currently having this problem. Your asks are not being ignored. I do sometimes take awhile to get to them all, because I am a full time college student with real life responsibilities, in addition to some other issues that I’m dealing with at the moment. But if the asks go through, I try to make a habit of getting them answered in a day’s time, at least. If you feel that your ask has not gotten through, send it in as a submission. There doesn’t seem to be any problem with that side of the box, and while it takes a little more work on my side to post them, I certainly don’t mind.
What I do mind is receiving rude, hateful asks from anons threatening to “unfollow” me over things like the chat not working, or my choices on the creative direction of the blog. First of all, if you have a problem that seems so major that you see unfollowing as a possibility, come talk to me in person, in the account in which you follow. Do not go and hide on anonymous just so you can say whatever you want. That’s disrespectful, cowardly and rude, and it makes me feel like not helping you at all. I’m sorry if that sounds harsh, but seriously. I’m not going to bite your head off. If you have something you’d like to address with me in a civil manner, I’m always more than happy to oblige. I love running this blog and I’m so happy with everyone who has done me the honor of following it. I’m also sorry if some of you don’t like when Greenbean and the Lorax make appearances, but I do that to try and include other varieties and characters besides the same old asks, and the same old answers. There are a lot of Lorax-themed ask blogs out there right now, and if there’s not some kind of differentiation between them, I don’t see what the point is. I run mine the way I think is the most interesting to myself, and to the majority of the followers.I’m sorry if it’s failing to impress anyone, I really am. But I try to make everyone happy.
Anyway, sorry for the ridiculously long rant. I rarely stand up for myself, but this kind of thing has been going on for a long time, I’ve just kept quiet about it and tried to ignore the fact. I love this fandom. I love everyone in it. I would just like a little smidge of human respect, if that’s not asking too much. Sorry for ranting.
Jeez anons. Cut her some slack. It’s pretty tough being a college student.Not only that but she has other things to deal with too. It does get frustrating when your ask isn’t replied to but I’m sure if she knew what the problem is, she would fix it.
